The Ultrabell is a complete replacement bellhousing that is also a SFI certified flexplate shield. A stock OEM type automatic transmission bellhousing was never intended to handle the power levels that are being produced by today's HP and racing engines and the hard launches provided by modern tire technology and suspension. The JW Ultra-bell is approximately 600 times stronger than original stock type bellhousings. The JW Ultra bell is built to SFI specifications to restrict and contain a flexplate, flywheel, explosion. Since the Ultrabell meets the SFI flywheel shield requirements for racing, you do not have to run a separate flexplate, flywheel, shield to meet racing sanctioning body rules.
